ستون كان يوما من أهم نجوم الغناء في العالم، إلا أنه اليوم يعيش كمتشرد في سيارة متنقلة في لوس أنجلوس، حيث صادق عائلة تعطف عليه وتسمح له بإستخدام حمامها لقضاء حاجته والإستحمام مرة بعد مرة!
وكان
ستون قد صرح: "أحب منزلي الجديد.. لا أريد العودة إلى منزل ثابت، لا أستطيع أن أحتمل البقاء في مكان واحد، علي أن أستمر بالتنقل"!
ويقول
ستون بأن مشاكله المالية بدأت العام 2009، حيث تعرض لعملية إحتيال من مدير أعماله ورفع عليه دعوى يطالبه بـ 50 مليون دولار، إلا أنه لم يحصل على شيء! كما وأن
ستون كان قد إرتكب حماقة كُبرى حين باع كامل أرشيفه الموسيقي وحقوق نشره لمايكل جاكسون مقابل مليون دولار فقط!
يُذكر أن
سلاي متورط في عدة مشكلات ويقول إن الـ FBI تلاحقه وهناك من إستأجر أشخاصا لملاحقته وضربه! ورغم ذلك هو لا يزال يهوى الموسيقى ويسجل أغنيات على الكومبيوتر المحمول الخاص به!

Sly Stone of
Sly & The Family Stone has lost all his money and is living penniless in a van parked on a Los Angeles street.
What's sadder is that a retired couple who live on the same street where he regular parks his van have been helping him by allowing him to shower in their home and give him a meal to eat every single day.
Sly spoke about living in his van, saying:
"I like my small camper. I just do not want to return to a fixed home. I cannot stand being in one place. I must keep moving."
The man is used to living in mansions in El Lay and Napa Valley so we're not really buying his story. Plus, he's wasted hundreds of thousands of dollars on cars, fancy things, and drugs, which was the reason for his downfall.
He's now been involved in a major lawsuit with his former business manager, but because he thinks "the FBI is after him," he's been unable to perform his music.
WTF?!?
In the meantime,
Stone wants to let everyone know:
"Please tell everybody, please, to give me a job, play my music. I’m tired of all this s–t, man."
